Indoor Multisport Court Resurfacing
After the indoor sports turf at Richmond Action Centre was destroyed in a fire, SmartGrass resurfaced the multisport court
The challenge
Toxic smoke residue contaminated and corroded the interior of the building, meaning almost everything had to be gutted out and replaced.
Our client sought a high quality replacement turf that would perform better than the previous one.
The solution
SmartGrass installed a custom designed 12mm monofilament sports turf over the concrete foundation.
The turf included two courts side-by-side, each with three sports in one so that two games can be played at the same time.
Line markings for indoor netball, indoor cricket and futsal were inlaid during manufacturing as well as cut in during installation.
A combination of green, white, purple and pink colours were used to distinguish the markings for the different sports.
