Gym Expansion
To deal with the constant increase in membership numbers, Industrial Fitness owner Braden got in touch with SmartGrass to expand his gym’s usable space.

The challenge
Industrial Fitness Gym and Fight Club’s membership numbers increase rapidly month on month. The gym is full of members 24 hours a day so owner Braden Lee needed a solution to create more space.
All space inside was used up by gym equipment and workout space already. There was space outside the gym on the asphalt between the warehouse doors and carpark. Members occasionally used the area for tractor tyre flips, stretching and aerobic exercises but it was not a very comfortable place to work out in its original state.
The solution
Industrial Fitness contacted SmartGrass to fit an artificial turf outside that would be suitable for high intensity training. Vista 30 was applied directly to the asphalt. Vista is a strong, short pile landscaping grass that looks great and performs well with frequent use.
The SmartGrass turf spreads from outside, under the warehouse doors and into the reception area to create fantastic indoor-outdoor flow. The gym now has an expansive, open atmosphere during summer when the doors are open.
Industrial Fitness members use the area to warm up and cool down, work out and stretch. The instructors and PTs make the most of the extended space and run some of their classes on the turf. They can also take some of the machines and equipment outside to really make the most of the space when previously it would have been damaged on the rough asphalt.
Braden finished the area off with a custom fence to seclude it from the carpark and has made it home to the Fit ‘n’ Fed food truck!
