Marie saw SmartGrass for the first time at the Star Christchurch Home Show in June 2019. By the end of August she would have a totally transformed lawn, fit for the stunning city views that can be seen from her Cashmere home.
The challenge
The existing lawn was a lot of hassle for Marie and her husband, who travels a lot. They struggled with brown patches where the grass had died off, grass wouldn’t grow where it was shaded by trees, and there was subsidence in the far corner. The lawn not only looked unsightly, it was also uneven.
Access to this hillside home was via a set of stairs. Access issues are common on hillside properties, but the SmartGrass install team can make just about anything work. Excavation and earthmoving was done by hand. The install team worked quickly to barrow almost 3 tons of soil out via the staircase, being careful not to cause any damage.
The solution
The hard work of the install team paid off – the new lawn was laid and will forever remain level and free draining, and that is backed up by a 10 year warranty.
Marie and her husband are thrilled with the result. SmartGrass transformed the look of the area and created better flow, so it gets used more. The dogs use the lawn as they have always done, and the lawn mower has been permanently retired!
